Hi, Recently been searching the internet trying to find out where the Windows Vista Installer is located, especially the updated installer! Have not found anything yet. So the question is: is it located in the Installer folder? But I have a second problem because I have just discovered something. During my search I also found out 2 things: 1. You cannot delete any uninstaller found in the Vista Installer folder; 2.
Typing the msizap.exe G command to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility would lead to problems. To explain what I mean the following part of a statement has been copied from the Windows Club 'products installed by the installer may fail to function after using Msizap, and it may and may move the machine to an inconsistent state.' Also, the following is another part of the same statement which i have copied: 'Microsoft has stopped support for the Windows Installer Clean Up utility. See this post to troubleshoot Missing Windows Installer Cache files.' So next question is: what can I use in it's place to help dealing with all the installers located in the Installer folder which are no longer needed?
Oct 16, 2016 Windows Installer CleanUp Utility can remove Windows Installer configuration information on failed installs. This helps if you try to install the program again, but you are unsuccessful. I thank anyone in advance for there patience in this matter and I look forward to receiving a simple reply soon in the near future. From Mahjonng. My first concern is WHY? Why do you want to mess with it? There is no need to unless your trying to have Vista on a 20GB drive laptop from 2005. Secondly Vista isn't supported, there are no solutions, all files and such for VISTA have been removed and you are totally wasting your time.
Lastly, if your still on a vista system I would HIGHLY tell you that you need to update to a newer system. Walmart Black Friday sale has a laptop for only $173, or the normal priced i3Core is $249. Computers are like cell phones, disposable and just as 'cheap' to buy now, the cost to 'upgrade' and such for parts or licenses (say new copy of Windows 7) is the same COST or MORE EXPENSIVE then a new computer (Windows 8 sells for $279 by itself).
