' Yo tuve el mismo problema y despues de siglos de busquedas encontre una solucion y pude abrir el solidworks 2008 en windows vista. Si te fijas en el buscador vas a ver que muchos tienen ese problema.

So my doubt is: does the word 'support' mean that Microsoft is not going to give us assistance (incidents, warranties, hotfixes, etc.) when having VB6 IDE installed on a Windows 2008 R2 Server? Or does it mean, literally, that VB6 IDE is not going to be able to be installed on a Windows 2008 R2 Server??

I think you clearly missed the point. 'Support' from Microsoft (or any vendor for that matter) is usually limited to email/online/phone/technical support calls. If you never call/contact Microsoft it never matters.

Since VB6 is on the way out i can see why MS will not provide help/solutions to issues on this product. Net_hobbyist, To Bill's point, try the install on 2008 and see if it works out of the box.
